If you’re chasing height, hangtime, and confidence in powered conditions, the 2026 Cabrinha Nitro 2026 is a kite that absolutely deserves your attention.
I’ve been riding the 10m Nitro in typical Florida conditions (around 18 knots), and after multiple sessions—and some solid Woo-recorded boosts—I’ve got a clear sense of what this kite does really well, and who it’s for.
First Impressions
Right out of the bag, the Nitro feels purpose-built for big air and high performance riding.
The canopy is tight, the structure feels incredibly rigid, and everything about the design leads to efficiency and lift. Cabrinha clearly refined this kite for riders who want to go higher, faster, and longer.
Compared to kites like the Switchblade, the Nitro has a more aggressive profile. What this means is that it sits further forward in the wind window.
Jumping & Hangtime
This is where the Nitro really shines.
In about 18 knots on the 10m, I was consistently getting strong vertical lift with clean, floaty landings. Using my Woo, I was able to track some of my sessions, and the height you can generate with relatively little effort is impressive.
What stood out most:
- Explosive lift when properly sent
- Predictable, floaty hangtime
- Smooth, controlled descent
This kite gives you that “elevator” feeling once you’re up, you stay up.
If you’re working on boosting higher or getting into big air progression, this kite gives you the confidence to send it.
Turning Speed & Handling
For a kite designed around big air, the 10m Nitro is surprisingly responsive.
It’s not as fast-turning as a lower aspect kite such as the Moto X, but for its category:
- It loops with good control
- It doesn’t feel sluggish
- It recovers well after aggressive sends
The steering is direct and precise, which makes timing your jumps much easier especially when you’re powered.
Upwind Performance
Upwind ability is excellent.
The Nitro sits forward in the window and generates efficient pull, so you’re able to:
- Hold your edge comfortably
- Ride upwind without effort
- Stay in position for repeated jumps
Who Is This Kite For?
The Nitro is not trying to be everything—it’s built with a clear purpose.
Best for:
- Riders focused on big air and boosting
- Intermediate to advanced kiteboarders
- Anyone chasing Woo records or personal height goals
Not ideal for:
- Freestyle – unhooking
- Dedicated wave riders
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Incredible lift and hangtime
- Stable and predictable in the air
- Strong upwind performance
- Great for progression in big air
Cons
- Not as versatile as something like a Switchblade
- Requires good timing and technique to get the most out of it
Final Thoughts
The 2026 Cabrinha Nitro (10m) is a serious big air machine.
If your goal is to jump higher, stay in the air longer, and push your riding progression, this kite delivers in a big way. I still love the Switchblade as my personal go-to, but this kite is fantastic for going as high as possible.
