Beginner Kiteboarding Lessons
Kiteboarding St Petersburg specializes in beginner kiteboarding lessons. Beginner lessons are customized to fit the individual’s skill levels, personal experiences, and area where they will be kiteboarding. With experience kiteboarding around the world, our instructors have the skills and certifications to provide the most advanced lessons in the area. We will teach you how to work smart and not hard. Our team has worked with people of different ages, backgrounds, and “athleticisms”. The beautiful part of learning how to kiteboard is that you do not need to be strong or athletic to learn! We teach the appropriate fundamental skills needed by any kiteboarder to be safe, work smart, and conserve energy. We are confident in our abilities to safely teach kiteboarding, but more important, we love sharing the stoke with you!
Kiteboarding Lessons Conditions
Over 14 years of experience kiteboarding in the Tampa Bay area has provided the experience to read the conditions to provide the best experience from beginner to advanced kiteboarders. The Skyway Bridge offers some of the best conditions in the world due to shallow waters and consistent winds. The shallow waters make it possible to stand in waist deep water while learning to fly the kite. Shallow waters are a major advantage over learning in an area with deep waters. The north rest area exit at the Skyway Bridge has a west side and east side that make it possible to kiteboard in any wind direction. If you’re taking lessons with us, we’ll help teach you how to read a wind forecast, but we’ll also inform you for when the best winds are for your lesson.
Kiteboarding Equipment Lessons and Rentals
We use the latest Cabrinha and Dakine equipment to help students learn quicker and safer. Cost of the lesson includes all equipment needed for kiteboarding. We have just about every sized kite to accommodate any person for any wind condition.
We use the Cabrinha Switchblades and Contras for our rental equipment. Sizing is based on the rider’s weight and the projected wind speeds. We will be available at the launch site for rentals. We provide supervision for all rental equipment. Contact us in advance for availability for our rental equipment.

We are committed to keeping kiteboarding safe and accessible for everyone in the Tampa Bay area. Our launch sites are either the Skyway Bridge or at Fort Desoto Park. Both launch sites are world class for learning how to kiteboard. The shallow waters and consistent winds make for the ideal locations to learn how to kiteboard.
