On Sunday, 10/20/2016 we did a demo with Damien Leroy, Brandon Bowe and Sean Buell at Fort Desoto East Beach. The conditions were good to start the morning, averaging 15 knots but slowly died to about 10-12 knots at 10am. We were on the 14m Cabrinha FX, Switchblade and Apollo in the early morning. The FX kite is like a high-end manual sports car, it has a raw feel and you have the ability to fine tune and get a great feel for where the kite is. The Switchblade is like your Audi A6, it automatically does everything extremely well and is real easy to fly while maintaining all the performance features an experienced rider wants out of a kite. The Apollo is like a Tesla, it features a new and innovative profile and has a wider wind range than any other kite we’ve flown. When the wind dropped to 10-12 knots the kites that were out on the water were the 17m Contra, 15m Contra and 14m Apollo. The Cabrinha Contra is perfect for lightwinds, its easy to fly and has performance characteristics making it still fun to jump and do tricks in light wind.
Doing demos with the Cabrinha team is always a ton of fun and a great way to learn something new. You’re always welcome to try and compare different models or different sizes side by side. We are looking to have another Cabrinha demo in December so stay tuned!
