Is kiteboarding safe?
Kite companies have invested in making kiteboarding safe and fun for everyone. There’s three safety systems, letting out of the bar, quick release 1 and quick release 2. We teach you how and when to use these safety systems and we promise you, you will not get blown away!
Is kiteboarding hard?
Kiteboarding is all about finesse. There’s no muscling the kite or forcing the kite to pull you, we teach the fine motor skills you need to have excellent kite control. We highly recommend lessons because learning kite control is counterintuitive to what your reactions tell you.
Can I watch Youtube Videos to learn?
Youtube videos will help you learn theory but are quickly forgotten as soon as you’re hooked into a kite. We are there next to you to help you learn the fine motor skills necessary for kite control and riding independently.
How old do I have to be to learn kiteboarding?
Kids 9 years old and above are eligible to learn kiteboarding. There are kiteboarders in their 80’s that can ride so age is not necessarily a limiting factor.
How long does it take to learn how to kiteboard?
We are not “resort instructors.” We take pride in making safe and independent riders. We use proven theories and methods to help you learn the necessary skills needed faster and more efficiently than those who are not IKO certified. The actual length of time varies from student to student, some students have learned within 4 hours but the average length of time needed is 6-9 hours.
What sports are good prerequisites to kiteboarding?
Any board sport experience is good for kiteboarding. Wakeboarding experience is recommended and helps towards being able to ride the board. Having stunt kite or trainer kite experience is good for kite control. Windsurfing and sailing are good for understanding wind theory and tacking.
