Kiteboarding in the Tampa Bay area is world class. We can kiteboard in butter flat, shallow water with any wind direction. We may not get the strong winds that Brazil or Tarifa gets but we do get very consistent winds. Shallow water and consistent winds make it easy to learn how to kiteboard or progress as a rider.
It’s easy to explore Tampa Bay while kiteboarding. There’s tons of islands you can take a boat or jetski out to and enjoy the clear pristine water. Downwinders are a fun experience and a great way to get a good feel for Tampa Bay. During the fall or spring months, the consistent NE winds in the morning make it fun to do the Lassing Park to the Skyway Bridge downwinder. When the sea breeze picks up in the afternoon its fun to cruise out in the Gulf of Mexico for some waves.
With Tampa International Airport close by, its an easy place to fly into from anywhere in the world. Once you’re here there’s tons of fun things to do on and off the water. Downtown St Petersburg is a lively place with lots of local breweries, art galleries, restaurants and more.
