An SBend to Blind is an S Bend rotation landing blind with the bar behind your back. Once you learn how to land blind with a handlepass, an SBend to Blind will be easy.
Progression Step 1
S Bends: Make sure you have S Bends dialed in. Focus on keeping your kite at 11 or 1, you should land with your kite in the same position as when you took off from the water. Bend your front knee and look over your back shoulder to initiate a quicker rotation.
Progression Step 2
Pop to Blind: Learn how to pass the bar landing blind. The key to any handle pass trick is kite control and pulling the bar down towards your hip. Pulling the bar towards your hip will make the rotation quicker and pressure lighter on your shoulders.
Putting It Together
The key point to this trick is to make sure when you initiate your rotation to blind that you pull the bar down towards your hip. As you rotate to blind, you are simultaneously letting go of your back hand and committing to the handle pass.
**** Always remember to keep your kite parked at 11 or 1 when doing an unhooked trick. Kite control comes first, as soon as you feel you’ve lost kite control, let go of the bar. Letting go of the bar will help prevent injury and will keep you on track with your progression.
