What is kiteboarding?
Kiteboarding, also known as kitesurfing, is a watersport that combines windsurfing, surfing and wakeboarding into one extreme sport. Learning how to kiteboard requires multiple skills, but the single most important skill is flying the kite. People of all ages can kiteboard and it is not strenuous on the body. Once you understand and can control the kite, kiteboarding will open the door to many fun experiences on the water.
Why take Lessons?
You can be the best, most extreme athlete but that doesn’t mean you can pick up a kite and go. Flying the kite is counterintuitive to everything your reactions tell you to do. Our instructors are pro riders and areĀ IKO certified, which better enables them to teach students more effectively. Our mission is to create safe and independent kiteboarders who have the skills and knowledge to be positive ambassadors of the sport. We promise that you will learn quicker through one of our certified instructors.
Who can kiteboard?
Anybody can learn how to kiteboard! There’s men and women in their 70’s and 80’s who have learned how to kiteboard. The kite is connected to a harness that is strapped to your body and absorbs all the energy. You can ride for hours and hours and not feel exhausted! Kiteboarding is a sport that requires finesse, not strength; the easier you work, the easier kiteboarding is.

Kiteboarding is an extreme sport that requires you to be mentally focused, is a great workout and provides stress relief. It gives you the ability to escape onto the water where you can enjoy the ride. Kites fit into a small bag making it very easy to travel with. It’s easy to pop on to a plane and cruise over to the Caribbean or anywhere in the world. You can explore new places and bond with people of different cultures who share the same passion towards kiteboarding.
Kiteboarding In St Petersburg
St Petersburg is the ideal place for kiteboarding because of the miles of waist deep water. The shallow water makes it easy to learn and to progress. Shallow water provides butter flat water and minimal current. Since St Petersburg is shaped like a peninsula, we can ride with any wind direction. There’s many spots to explore on any wind direction and on any given day you can jump around to different spots.

We strive to be the number one school in the Tampa Bay area by being the most qualified, using the latest and best technology and offering jetski support. We utilize the endless amount of shallow, flat water around Tampa Bay as our teaching grounds. The jetski helps get students upwind and away from other riders. This means you can practice kite control and riding the board in a comfortable and safe environment! We also teach right of way rules so that when you are amongst other riders you feel comfortable and in control.
