There’s a trough of low pressure that’s making its way over the Yucatan Peninsula. Most weather models are in sync that a tropical cyclone will form into next week. The projected path of this low pressure system has it moving to the northwest. By early next week it should be over the southern or central Gulf of Mexico. What this means for us in the Tampa Bay area is wind!
Weekend Wind – Light winds this weekend. Potential for east winds late Sunday afternoon.
Monday – East winds 15 mph and building depending on where the trough moves. The most ideal scenario is to have it move straight north into the middle of the Gulf.
Tuesday – Stronger winds out of the southeast on Tuesday 15 – 20 mph.
Wednesday – The trough should have enough time in the Gulf to develop into something tropical enough to push some good winds our way. Winds forecasted out of the southeast 20 – 30mph.
Rain Chances – Each day there is a 60% chance of rain. We’ll most likely be overcast with some scattered showers around. I don’t believe any of the days will be a complete wash out. Check out Klystron 9 radar when in doubt.
