Where’s The Wind!?
It appears that we’ve been in a pattern where we get wind Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Winds have been super light on the weekends. Unfortunately this weekend appears to have too light of winds for kiteboarding.
Slight Chance Of Wind
This time of year there’s always a chance for an afternoon sea breeze or thermal. Even if the forecast doesn’t look optimistic, there’s a chance the winds may pick up to 12-15 kts for a few hours in the afternoon. If the suns out, there’s dry air and a good warming trend, then the chances for a sea breeze are amplified.
Spotting a Seabreeze
Seabreezes are sometimes hard to forecast. You may not know until the night before or day of. Even if a seabreeze is forecasted, the strength is sometimes not determined until that day. For the best depiction of whether or not a significant breeze is forming we look at the Clearwater Pier Sensor on iKitesurf. Typically by 12pm we’ll know if a good breeze is forming if the sensor is showing at least 10-12 kts from either the NW or SW.
