The forecast hasn’t looked great for a weekend in a long time, but that doesn’t mean there’ll be no wind. With near record highs and water temperatures cooling off at night, there is fluctuations between land and water temps. Any time there’s these fluctuations, there’s wind.
A main factor for if we’ll have wind or not this weekend is if there’s cloud coverage or not. If there’s no cloud coverage then there’s a better chance for wind because it will allow a thermal to form.
Friday – Light winds at 10 kts out of the straight east this morning. Winds becoming light in the afternoon
Saturday – A 10-12 kt ESE thermal is possible between 9 and 10am. Winds should then clock around to the S and SW but will be light and variable.
Sunday – Potential for decent wind, 10 – 15 kts out of the south.
The regular, “Quicklook” forecast doesn’t look great on Ikitesurf but that doesn’t mean there’ll be no wind at all. There’s always a possibility this time of year. Our recommendation is to keep watching the sensors on Ikitesurf for the winds to pick up.
