The recent forecast models have been pretty difficult to read. The latest forecast trend has under forecasted our local wind, especially on southerly winds. This weekend we are predicted to have southerly winds, which we now can believe may be moderate to strong wind. Here’s a possible breakdown, for St. Petersburg kite spots:
Saturday May 11th
From sunrise until about 10am – 10-14 kts out of the SE
10am – 2pm – 13-16 kts out of the S
2pm – 5pm – 14-17 kts out of the SSW
*** Its important to note the change in wind direction. When theres a change in wind direction there’ll be a brief drop in the wind speed then the wind will pick back up.
Sunday May 12th
From sunrise until about 1pm – 14-16 kts out of the S
From 1pm on – 15-18 kts out of the SSW
*** There’ll be likely be thunderstorms in the afternoon so be vigilant of your surroundings.
