The 2018 Cabrinha XO Kiteboard was released mid season as a board specific for women kiteboarders. The board is designed to be a performance freestyle board to help women get to the next level no matter what their skill level is. This board features a softer flex pattern and a narrower stance. There’s a medium rocker and channels on the bottom of the board to provide early planing, solid grip and great pop. No matter if you’re a beginner kiter or an advanced rider, you’re going to appreciate the feature on the new Cabrinha XO Kiteboard.
Size Tested: 133cm
Rider Weight: 115lb
We’ve been testing this board out for the past few months in various conditions. At 115lbs and with a 12m kite, the 133cm will start planing and pointing upwind in 9mph. For 125 – 160lb riders we would recommend the 136cm board for an all around size.
The Cabrinha XO kiteboard excels in its ability to jump. You can hold an edge and build tension between you and the kite until you’re ready to release off the water. The shape favors freestyle which means you can control your pop off the water. Whether you’re doing a front rotation or rotating backwards, you can feel and get the timing right off the water. The wingtips are squared off enough to contribute to having controlled pop off the water but not so squared off that you get water in the face while riding. There’s a balanced amount of rocker to assure good low wind performance and good pop and soft landings.
The ideal conditions for this board are flat to choppy waters. The softer flex pattern and medium rocker profile do make it smooth in moderate chop but in bigger chop it won’t be as smooth as a Cabrinha Tronic or a board with rounded edges.
