Beginner – Advanced Freeride/ Small-Medium Waves
Beginners will love the stability that the large surface area of the front wing provides. The Cabrinha Hi Rise Varial Medium is well balanced between the front and rear wing so that the rider doesn’t experience too much lift.
Freeride Foilboarders will love the stability and range! The Varial Medium is well balanced between the front and rear wing to practice tricks like sitting on the board while riding or tacking and gybing. You have enough surface area on the front wing that if you’re surfing, you can use a smaller kite so that when you ride the wave you won’t experience much of a pull from the kite and can enjoy the foil surfing part!
Range
The more modern foil wings all have more range than the earlier wing designs. The Cabrinha Hi Rise Varial medium has significant range as well. We’ve gone as little as 4/5 mph and as fast as 20-25 mph. The Cabrinha Hi Rise Speed will have a higher top end speed and will have a higher “cruising speed”. The cruising speed we felt most comfortable at is about 10-15mph with the Varial wing.
Learning to Foil
The well balanced wing and large surface area makes this foil perfect for learning how to foilboard or how to tack or gybe. We personally recommend this foil and will be conducting our foilboarding lessons the Cabrinha Hi Rise Varial Medium.
