When you take lessons with us we provide all the gear, all you need to do is show up. If you already know you’re going to get into kiteboarding and want to purchase gear, here’s what we recommend.
*** Side Note *** We have different size and model 2019 Cabrinha Kites for teaching so we will automatically use the best model and size for your lesson so you learn as quickly and efficiently as possible. When you do learn how to ride, you’ll have access to compare the different models on the water to feel which one is best for you.
Water Shoes
Yes, we provide water shoes during lessons! The most common accidents that happen while kiteboarding are foot lacerations from shells in the water. This is easily prevented by wearing water shoes. Once you complete your lessons, you’ll want to continue wearing your water shoes. Here’s what we recommend:
Oneill Superfreak Split Toe Water Shoe
Oneill Superfreak Round Toe Water Shoe
Sunglasses
Chances are its sunny when you’re kiteboarding. If you’re learning you’ll probably be spending a lot of time looking up at the kite. Polarized sunglasses are a cheap way to make your lessons more comfortable and riding experience more enjoyable. Here’s the brand we recommend:
30 Knots Polarized Sunglasses
Impact Vest
A standard PFD doesn’t work well with kiteboarding because the bulkiness intrudes on where your harness sits. Kite companies make impact vests that offer flotation and protection that are specific to kiteboarding. They protect areas that matter like your rib cages and are designed for harnesses to fit comfortably below them.
NP Impact Vest Side Zip
Everything else you will learn more about throughout your kiteboarding lesson. We want your investment into kiteboarding to be worth while. We want you to get the best possible gear for your budget that lasts you a long time. If you have any questions shoot us a message
