The east side of the Skyway Bridge is the perfect place to watch the sunrise over Tampa Bay. There are gates that are sometimes opened by the Florida Highway Patrol just before sunrise. This allows access to the beach area where we go kiteboarding. Some sunrises like this one are simply beautiful and are a pleasant reminder why we live here.
Northeast Wind Patterns
This time of year we will see a lot of NE winds. The best time to capture the best winds are an hour to two hours once the sun has risen. These are consistent winds that will last until around 11am.
A good NE wind, dry air and sunny skies can also lead to a good afternoon sea breeze. There are signs of a sea breeze building, but one of the best indicators is a good NE wind in the morning.
